Nature Nurture

wALK AND TALK THERAPY FOLLOWS CURRENT PANDEMIC RESTRICTIONS.
Program Availability: Stittsville, Kemptville
Experiencing nature is therapeutic.  It can help you connect brain and body so you think clearly, feel better, and feel more ready for your next steps. Nature experience can include indoor, virtual, or outdoor and more immersive experience.  If you are coaching or counselling online, aspects of your overall plan and homework can easily include nature elements that you have access to.
In-person service in the Ottawa area can include getting outdoors together with your therapist.  You could even bring your dog for walk!  Move your body, move your mind...move your
life.
Forest Therapy is a facilitated experience of being in the forest.  You walk, rest, and engage in mindful activity that helps you process.  Get away from your pressing concerns, so that you can extract the additional therapeutic benefits of forest-bathing and mindfulness.

Moodwalks: Moodwalks is a program designed by the Canadian Mental Health Association. It is a structured series of group walks in nature (any season) that encourages mindfulness and physical activity for mental health promotion. Moodwalks is based on science showing psycho-emotional and social benefits of exercise with others in nature. A Moodwalks program consists of 10 walks, and can be organized for individuals or groups.  Participants are also educated in basic safe hiking/walking practices. Walks can be urban or in nature parks. They can also be designed around age or different abilities (ie: poles, or bike paths for mobility aids)
